lyrics
subterranean fears, miles below, miles away
the anguish that was lost faces peril for a day
sequestered origins hide below, hide away,
laced in a frost, use your fists as paperweights.
I see it, I see it now
what lies ahead, is already
I see it, I see it now
as leader of the lost I raise an atlas flag
unadulterated poise through my soul, through my veins
a stone cold wall is a nursery and a grave
incandescent victories are figments, fragments
but filaments of shame in an apricot sky
I hear the sirens cry
ooh, but I can dig and dig and pry
but the truth, the bitter truth, will still slip by
ooh, I need a fix from something alive
to reassure and relent from feeling the poison
behind the curtain
I'm undeserving

SHYRE is a creative collaboration launched by Sarah Rossy in 2013. SHYRE's lush strings and angelic harmonies combine in a soundscape often described as ethereal and innocent in a marriage of orchestra and pop.
Alex Wisner | Adam Cude | Daniel Donayre are one of the my favorite 2014 discoveries. Planning to do some type of entry regarding their music on my blog http://digitalearbuds.blogspot.com ~ Stunning vocals and artistry. Bob Crabtree
Rise is excellent morning commuting music. I'm obsessed with Hers Was As Thunder right now; I've been listening to it ~3 times a day! Every song is wonderfully stellar; I honestly don't know how I'd overlooked the awesomeness of this album amongst Ayla's out-of-this-world discography for years now.... I feel as though I've discovered a hidden gem that was actually laying out in plain sight, ha!
Thank You, Ayla, this song really speaks to my heart & moves me in powerful ways. 💘 emmyfayepcole
Tender and gorgeous songs from this Brooklyn duo, “and then all over” is a striking, evocative work full of hushed beauty. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 11, 2021
Two essential singer-songwriters join forces for an uplifting anthem to raise awareness and support for gun safety and reproductive rights. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 24, 2022
coz' the artist has something to say. Good lyrics & turn-of-phrase = excellent songwriting. Reminds me of Arlo Guthrie or a young Bob Dylan in a sense while being quite individualistic. Hassles
